Each child's card pocket contains green, yellow, red and purple cards. Everyday begins with a green card! Should a child violate a classroom or school rule or exhibit inappropriate behavior, the green card will be pulled from the child’s card pocket. Outlined below is what discipline action will be taken with each colored card level:
Class Card System Action
1. Green Card Great!
2. Yellow Card Quiet Time-Out
3. Red Card Child removed from
classroom, note sent home and lose positive stamp on discipline sheet
4. Purple Card Telephone parent(s)
Repeated offenses by a child will result in a meeting with the parent and the teacher. Should the behavior continue, then a meeting with the parent, teacher and principal will be set.
A Monthly Calendar (example attached) will be attached to each child's folder and sent home daily with a smiley face stamp, or an explanation why no stamp was earned. The calendar is to be initialed by a parent each day. At the end of 2 weeks a reward will be given if a child has 80% of his/her smiley faces. Later in the year the percentage will be raised. If a child is absent and does make up work, a smiley face will be earned. If a child goes home early from school, the child will receive a smiley face stamp if they have earned it up until that time.
