Greetings to you, and welcome to the St. Stephens Lutheran School website.
St. Stephens Lutheran School had its beginning in 1943 as members of St. Stephens Lutheran Church desired to provide a Christ centered education for their children. Over the years, St. Stephens Lutheran School has been blest by our heavenly Father with dedicated teachers, supportive parents, continual congregational support, and willing learners.
St. Stephens Lutheran School has been accredited by the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA) and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS-CASI).
St. Stephens Lutheran School was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School in 2003 for its record of academic excellence. The pre-school program has been awarded the highest rating, five stars, by the state of
North Carolina.
Students in grades 1-8 participate in the Stanford X Achievement Test on an annual basis. In comparing with the national norms, as published by the U.S. Department of Education, our students consistently score in the top ten per cent of students in the nation. Eighth grade students participate in the North Carolina Computer Literacy Test as well as End of Course Tests in Algebra I and Physical Science.
St. Stephens Lutheran School has an active parent - teacher group which supports families through functions and programs. The Athletic Booster Club supports 13 interscholastic teams as well as intramural teams. Both groups are essential as they offer financial support for school projects.
Students receive religious instruction each day both as a separate class as well as being integrated throughout the secular curriculum. The students gather every Wednesday morning for a chapel service where they worship our Lord. Parents and friends are always welcome to join the students in chapel. We are thankful for the involvement of the parents in the education of the children.

May our Lord bless you and your family in your daily lives.
