Discipline Plan
In an effort to streamline the discipline policies school wide, the Star Card Program was implemented by the school staff for use in Kindergarten through 8th grades. Designed with a set of guidelines appropriate for each grade grouping, the program provides an immediate impact on students for their actions through the use of star punches. The program allows parents to keep up-to-date with the behavior of their child. It also provides an opportunity for teachers to have an immediate response process in addressing classroom discipline issues. Also, built into the program is a component for each student to be incentivized to follow school rules.
Star Cards are distributed to students each week, with teachers maintaining a log of individual star card punches in determining student involvement in monthly or quarterly star card parties or other reward initiatives.
